superstars and motorcades
It has been a very busy week, and much to update. The highlights of the week, in no particular order:
1) Ordering dinner in the office. After much resistance the first week, I finally caved in and ordered dinner at work for almost the entire week. So free dinners in exchange for work till at least 9 pm. and more meals if you go to work during wkends, which I did... urgh
2) Having to fend of the multitudes of falun gong practitioners outside my office building. So Hu Jin Tao is in town,and apparently staying at the Waldorf (a convenient block away from my office). So to protest his presence, the falun gong people decided to plunk themselves right outside my office for an entire week. Everytime i walk past them, some smiley grandma would try to stuff fliers into my hands and feed me falun gong propaganda... They are there at 7am when i arrive at work and still there at 10pm when i go home regardless of the weather (and weather sucked this week). Talk about hardcore...
3) Witnessing a movie shoot while walking to work today. Yes its saturday, and yes i had to work. But I did catch a glimpse of people shooting a movie (the thing it was the devil wears prada) on 5th ave, so tt was kind of a kick. No idea who though...
4) Watching a motorcade go past when i went home this evening... the freaking motorcade was made up was 10 motorbikes, followed by 5 black cars, one stretch limo and then another 10 cars with men in black in them. Must have been the president of some country or P diddy... FYI, the fbi really do wear the most severe black suits i've ever seen, n black sunglasses indoors, we saw so many this wk =p
5) Watching Proof the movie and being able to spot people we know who worked as extras on the set. Also, the midway has never looked that good when i was there...
6) Being the one home earliest everyday, despite coming home only past 9pm on most days... go figure how many hours my roommates work...
7) Being able to catch up with Pakshun in the mornings when i walk to work, and Ruoying, Peishan and Wellian when i get home from work...i love my phone n i love my walks to and fro home, and the combination... priceless!
