I could do this all the time

Thanksgiving week proves to be the slackest week ever, despite having a big presentation to prepare for. The combination of having Pakshun visit, getting thursday off and effective half days on monday, wednesday and friday meant I did very little work this week...
Pak and I ate so much this week, i think its only fair that I give a recap to remember..hehe... I think both of us gained a dress size each =p luckily we didn't go for the traditional thanksgiving meal with the big turkey, stuffing and 3 types of pie...
meals from the most recent:
Today:
- Homemade pasta on sunday night, while alternating between shrek and extreme makeover home edition. Ruoying and pak both agree i make a mean homemade spaghetti dish
- mouthfuls of biscuit crumbs and pineapple tarts from bengawan solo... yumz
- Juicy burgers with the works at the burger joint in le parker meridien... Its the diviest hole in a wall you could ever find in a 5 star hotel, but for 6 bucks, they sure make good burgers =p oh n fries to rival in-n-out's works of art
Saturday:
- Two bottles of moscato d'asti... Pakshun, Walter and I have been looking for the same refreshing one that smelt delightfully mangoish we had many years ago, courtesy of peishan... unfortunately, 8 dollar wine does not make for good wine... we downed it anyway, no sense wasting it right?
- Japanese food at sapporo est in the east village... The line was long, service was brusque and decor regrettable, but sushi was reasonably fresh and came in slabs almost as thick as bricks... ok not quite, but still very satisfying.. i think its a keeper =)
- Veniero's italian desserts... we were supposed to have dessert after dinner, but since the line at the sushi place was insanely long, we decided to have dessert first. Not a bad idea, given we are always too full to have dessert by the time we are done with the entrees... We had good cheesecake, fine cannoli, but lousy whatever other pastries i didn't bother to remember
- bagel and beef stew from au bon pain... too busy shopping at woodbury commons- the mother of all outlet malls- for a proper lunch... so we bought food, carted it to walter's car and had a short respite from the insane crowd doing holiday shopping
- macdonalds... yumm..a pick-us-up after waking up at 7 am and withstanding an hour's drive to the mall...besides, what's a road trip without macD's? I had the mcgriddle, which is a purely american construct i believe.. its essentially the hotcakes with sausage meal all piled up, with egg n a slab of cheese in between... the biscuits had the texture resembling waffles and was infused with maple syrup.. i sincerely believe all breakfast foods taste good with maple syrup drizzled on top, and apparently, so does macdonalds!
Friday:
- chinese food at Yeah Shanghai.. Notice the word play... Yeah vs. 夜上海... bad pun, but food was sooo good... the 东坡肉 served like kong ba bao positively melted in our mouths... the joy of eating without any paying any regard to my burgeoning waistline
the after dinner drink of mango slush was not great though... nothing compares to the mango ice at Joy Yees
-lunch was nasty udon from the 49th st deli... i had to work, so pak came to meet me for lunch... after tt i showed him my office... half the reason i got out of work, i imagine, must be because my boss was feeling paiseh about making me stay at work with my bf in tow...muhahaha... girls, remember this trick!!
-breakfast cereal
Thursday-
i am tired... but all i can say was tt the only constructive thing i did tt day was to go to Fairway to buy food, eat hot dog, cook food and eat more food... hahaha
ending here, but our culinary extravaganza does not stop here.. akan datang!
