first day at work

finally its official, i am a real employee, despite being paid for the last 2 wks of relative inactivity =p today i met up with the rest of the analyst class and sat through lectures after lectures given by senior analysts and a visit by a compliance officer, who couldn't wait to remind us how we are supposed to act responsibly and scrupulously, and not get embarrassed by anything tt could blow up and turn up on the front pages of the wall street journal =p luckily i'm in credit, the poor equity guys have so much more restrictions on them and have to take more tests to take in order to publish...
the rest of the analyst and associate class is fine, i hope we have fun together, at least before we are done with training and actually have to do real work. there were a couple of guys from the london office, a guy in san fran, some japanese and even one Singaporean guy working in the spore office... triggering thoughts about relocating back home even before i start, great... the highlight of the day was probably the social event where we basically loaded up on the alcohol and food since the company was paying for everything... glad to know that no matter how much you earn, some habits you pick up from college (ie going for the free stuff) just dont go away! tomorrow we are going to outward bound! unfortunately we also have to be in the office at 7 am to catch the stupid bus, so i guess i should go to bed soon...
