wedding season

Peishan is in town this wkend for a conference, and so wellian decided to come up to new york for a rendevous (don't worry, i'm chaperoning) As usual, having out of town visitors means overeating. We had super dim sum, and 5 mins after dim summing, decided to duck into the egg tart cafe for dessert... Its amazing how expendable our stomachs are. and tonight, we had a nice french dinner at a rest. in meatpacking district, chosen for their gimmicky heated outdoor garden. It was really nice actually, especially when you are warm and cozy indoors while staring out at the northeast blizzard... the skate, crepes and wine warmed our innards perfectly. hehe...

anyway, getting back to the title of the blog... It was brought to our attention that one of our friends was getting married this year. While we are really happy to hear of the upcoming wedding and excited about going for the banquet, it was really terrifying once the news had set in. What do you talk to married friends in the future? When are they going to have babies? It just opens up a whole new set of questions that while might have been tucked somewhere at the back of my brain, has never really confronted me in the face. like when do u start saving money for your house/child... it means not flagrantly spending 50 bucks a night for food and drinks or 200 bucks for a bag or a pair of shoes, and having to think of buying life insurance so tt your spouse and offspring will be well protected in case of mishaps, or volunteering in schools when ur child is 2 years old so tt she has a chance of getting in by the time she turns 7... truly scary thoughts but they are going to come sooner or later i guess...
i realise this entry is v. disjointed but its ok... i am blaming it on the bad weather and too much to drink =p
